Last week, we took note of the rarity of ACSH's opinion coinciding with that of The New York Times: We both agreed that, as The Times editorial put it, Bloomberg's proposed sales limitation on sugary beverages was "A Ban Too Far."

So we were even more surprised to note that The New York Post, whose editorial page has us more frequently nodding in agreement, that same day announced itself in favor of Bloomberg's latest scheme. We're not sure what happened, but color us confused and disappointed.

For another, more humorous, take on the over-16-ounces issue, we recommend the latest blog post by ACSH s Dr. Josh Bloom, to be found over at Medical Progress Today. There, Dr. Bloom suggests some city-wide initiatives we might see in the future like the Hamburglary Task Force and the Department of Wiener Compliance.
