Fred Lipfert, PhD

Fred Lipfert holds degrees in engineering and fluid dynamics and a Ph.D. in environmental studies and has been concerned about air pollution for 50 years. He is a member of the ACSH Board of Advisors. He has published about 150 scientific papers and technical reports, beginning with his first in 1972 on pollution by nitrogen oxides from jet engines. He has participated in national air pollution assessment programs and testified before Congress. He retired from Brookhaven National Laboratory's scientific staff in 1997 and serves as an independent consultant and researcher. Dr. Lipfert is the author of Air Pollution and Community Health: A Critical Review and Data Sourcebook.
